Busan ​​National University (President Cha Jeong-in) announced on the 10th that on the 7th, Lee Kang-woo, CEO of Sunjin Environment Co., Ltd., pledged to contribute 100 million won (pictured) to the development fund to support the scholarships of juniors.



Kang-woo Lee, a professor of Environmental Engineering at Busan ​​National University, was an adjunct professor at Busan ​​National University and Korea Maritime University. After graduating from Busan ​​National University, CEO Lee worked at Daewoo Heavy Industries and Samsung Heavy Industries, and in 2013 established Sunjin Environment specializing in waste refrigerant treatment. Sunjin Environment is a company that provides a one-stop solution for refrigerant recovery, treatment, and regeneration at once. Through continuous R&D, it acquired a new refrigerant-related new technology (NET) for the first time in Korea, and in 2021, it was selected as a 'Global Top Environmental Technology Development Project Star Technology' and received a commendation from the Minister of Environment.

CEO Lee said, “As a first-time graduate of the Department of Environmental Engineering, I got a job at a large company thanks to the passionate lectures of the professors, and the knowledge I learned at the university was a great help in doing business. I decided to participate in the development fund because I hope that the donations of the alumni who run the business will continue.”

President Cha Jeong-in said, “The development fund provided by alumni Kang-woo Lee will provide scholarships to students majoring in environmental engineering to nurture talents who will lead the development of the southeast region.”
