Through this, about 40 waste refrigerants generated during the maintenance and disposal of refrigerant-use devices were properly recovered and processed, contributing to the reduction of 18,00 tons of greenhouse gases.

Contributing to reducing greenhouse gases and creating jobs.

In October 2017, Sunjin Environment Co., Ltd. completed a one-stop recycling or thermal destruction process (200 kg/h) in a single process in Gangseo-gu, Busan, and began operation.

There are three domestic and foreign patent registrations and 13 applications related to the thermal treatment technology of waste refrigerants. Six SCI papers were published and on August 24, 2017, it was certified as a new technology by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for its waste refrigerant decomposition technology using air circulation injection.

On December 22, 2017, the Korea Railroad Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Railroad Corporation to promote greenhouse gas reduction through leading management of waste refrigerants, and on March 14, 2018, it continues to study methods for greenhouse gas reduction.

After the start of operation of the waste refrigerant treatment plant in January 2018, it signed contracts with eight companies for consignment treatment of waste refrigerants and recovered and treated 40 waste refrigerants.

On November 14, 2018, a corporate research institute was established to continue refrigerant-related research activities, and on November 2, 2018, it also attracted 3.5 billion won in investment from the Korea Technology Guarantee Fund and two venture capitals to secure operating funds and expand its business.

CEO Lee Gang-woo said, "When the revised air environment conservation law and methodology research for greenhouse gas reduction are completed on November 29 last year, more than 130,000 tons of leaked and neglected waste refrigerants will be treated annually, which will contribute to the government's Paris Convention."
